Abstract
Physics information derived by multiple diagnostic methods is compared on a set of COMPASS and JET discharges with significant RE population. The talk will focus on simple empirical relations observed in the data e.g. large synchrotron radiation intensity as a precursor of significant heat load/limiter damage at termination in a variety of scenarios. Furthermore, a combination of information from vertical and tangential HXR spectrometers to estimate the pitch angle evolution and other similar techniques driven by the data obtained in the last campaigns will be introduced. The discussion should develop around the deeper causes of these relations and options for using the information in control, synthetic diagnostic implementation and comparison with models.
